Position: Geotechnical Field Engineer Reports: Geotechnical Manager
Technical Responsibilities: - Perform geotechnical field
investigations, explorations, geologic reconnaissance, and site
mapping. - Prepare geotechnical field boring logs, soil and rock
sampling, and field permeability testing. - Support geotechnical
laboratory testing and analysis. - Perform basic engineering
calculations, data interpretation, and technical analysis. - Assist
in preparing geotechnical reports and project documentation. -
Coordinate with subcontractors in the field to complete
scope-of-work activities. - Travel to field assignments throughout
NJ, NY, PA, and CT; occasional overnight stays may be required. -
Work in alignment with construction schedules, which may require
early morning, evening, and overnight field work. Requirements:
Required Skills & Required Experience: - 0 to 3 years of experience
as a Geotechnical Field Engineer. - Bachelor’s degree in civil
engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- Green Infrastructure project experience and permeability testing
is a plus - Previous internship experience a plus. -
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification – plus. - OSHA 10-hr or
40-hr HAZWOPER training – plus. - Experience with RSLog or gINT–
plus. - Previous internship or field experience in geotechnical
engineering – plus. - Ability to work independently and as part of
a team. - Reliable transportation to travel between job sites and
office/lab (mileage, tolls & parking reimbursed). Physical & Work
Environment Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb,
kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, reach, push/pull, and perform
repetitive motions as needed for field tasks. - Frequently lift
and/or move up to 35 lbs. occasionally up to 75 lbs. - Visual
acuity required for data analysis, computer use, reading, and site
inspections. - Outdoor work performed 50–90% of the time, often on
uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions. - Exposure to
outdoor elements including insects, plants, animals, and
environmental temperatures typical of the region. - Occasional
exposure to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, vehicles,
electrical systems, heights, scaffolding, or chemicals. - Daily
travel ranging from 1 to 3 hours depending on project location;
overnight travel may be required. Schedule: - Sites may require
commute as long as 1 hour to 3 hours of driving. Sometimes
overnight stay for the duration of the project. - The field
inspections/visits are dictated by construction schedules and could
include early morning or late evening timing at the project site. -
Ability and willingness to work alternate hours, to include
overnight hours as required by the project specific requirements. -
The employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental
and climate conditions - The employee is expected to perform
approximately 50 to 90 percent of their work week outdoors with the
remaining time in the office. Outdoor work frequently includes
walking on uneven surfaces in all types of weather conditions and
may have exposure to animals, insects, plants, etc. - The employee
is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts,
moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and
high places, exposure to various heat/cold temperatures typical of
the region or exposure to chemicals. - Must have a reliable form of
transportation to travel between job sites and the office/lab with
equipment and/or samples. Miles, tolls, and parking reimbursed.

salary is $55,000 to $70,000 per year . Base salary is only one
part of KS Engineers total compensation, which includes an annual
