Responsible to inspect, maintain and repair Company vehicles and
similar equipment. Is accountable to deliver vehicles and similar
equipment that are maintained and repaired 100% in compliance with
applicable safety and operating standards. Will train and certify
employees and maintain all appropriate training records in the safe
and proper operation of all Company vehicles, forklifts, earth
moving equipment, lifting devices and similar equipment. Duties and
Responsibilities 1. Inspect, repair and maintain all Company
vehicles, forklifts, heavy equipment, lifting devices and similar
equipment. Diagnosis vehicle and equipment problem, identify and
complete all needed repairs. Perform all preventive maintenance.
Consult others as needed. All repair and maintenance solutions must
meet or exceed applicable Safety, Environmental and Quality
requirements. 2. Maintain all vehicles, forklifts, heavy equipment,
lifting devices and similar equipment inspection, repair and
preventive maintenance schedules, logs, files and records. Work
with Maintenance and Manufacturing Management to schedule/complete
all preventive maintenance and repairs with minimum disruption to
Maintenance and Production daily operations. 3. Conduct employee
training classes to educate applicable employees in the safe and
proper operation of all forklifts, heavy equipment and lifting
devices. Establish employee training schedules and work with
Maintenance and Manufacturing Management to implement scheduled
training classes. Maintain appropriate training records, logs and
related data for internal and external inspection. 4. Generate
Purchase Order Requisitions to support all maintenance and repair
projects. POs must include a listing of all required parts and
services with complete cost data. 5. Assist maintenance personnel
with plant repairs other than those related to mobile equipment as
necessary and/or assigned. 6. Properly store and maintain all
company issued tools and related equipment. Requisition required
new tools and replacements for Manager approval. 7. Maintain a
self-improvement program through the attendance at seminars, the
completion of course work and readings to continually develop
vehicle inspection/maintenance skills and vehicle and equipment

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively by the
condition of Company vehicles, fork lifts, heavy equipment, lifting
devices and similar equipment, the timely and accurate completion
of PO’s, the timely and accurate completion of all inspection,
repair and preventive maintenance schedules, records, logs and
files and the timely completion of all required vehicle training
classes along with the satisfactory maintenance of related training
logs and records. Subjectively, performance in this position is
evaluated by Maintenance and Manufacturing satisfaction with
vehicle condition and inspection/preventive maintenance programs,
the skills of employees trained the employee’s productivity, the
employee’s skill development and inspection, maintenance and repair
creativity. Working Conditions Work Environment: Indoors and
outdoors Atmospheric Conditions: Indoors - Maintenance Shop
environment Outdoors - Variety of weather conditions Temperature
Extremes: When working Outdoors below 32 o and above 100 o
Materials, Tools and Equipment Used: Common hand and power tools
used in a vehicle and manufacturing maintenance environment.
Welding (gas/stick/mig) and burning equipment. Common vehicle
inspection, maintenance and manufacturing maintenance diagnostic
equipment. personal computer and printer, telephone, copier and fax
machine. Required safety equipment includes hard hat, steel toe
boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves
and respirator. Requirements: Position Requirements · High School
or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED). · Previous experience with
forklift, heavy equipment and/or automobile/truck inspection,
maintenance and repair experience required. · Proven knowledge of
forklift, heavy equipment and automobile/truck safety regulations.
· Demonstrated skills with common hand and power tools. · Welding
(gas/stick/mig), fabrication and burning (gas/plasma) experience
required. · Hydraulic/pneumatic experience. · Experience with
common PC office applications such as MS Word and Excel required. ·
Within 14 days from date of hire must pass in-house certification
of tow motor operation and hi-reach operation. · Must be able to
work at heights up to 70 feet. · Must be able to work in confined
spaces. Some at depths as low as 50 feet below ground level. · Must
be willing to travel off site to pick up / drop off equipment. ·
Must have a valid Driver’s License. Physical Demands of Position
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.Ability to
constantly hear and see surroundings, including color discernment
and depth perception.Ability to frequently stand, walk, handle
objects, and drive using foot controls.Ability to occasionally sit,
lift, carry, push, climb, balance, bend, twist, crouch, crawl, and
reach.
