Job Duties Prior Nephrology training is not required, we will teach the successful candidate the skills needed to work collaboratively/ semi-independently with our providers. Our primary goal is to attract a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced inpatient/outpatient environment with a team-based approach. The department provides comprehensive Nephrology subspecialty services including: inpatient evaluation of acute kidney injury (AKI), critical care consultation, continuous dialysis, acute and chronic dialysis, outpatient management of kidney disease, and postoperative/long-term management of kidney transplant recipients. Primary responsibilities include: - Assist inpatient providers with new consults and inpatient follow-ups for patients with acute kidney injury and electrolyte abnormalities - Evaluate dialysis patients and write inpatient dialysis orders - Assist with inpatient charting and documentation - Assist providers in outpatient Nephrology clinic EducationBachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required), Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred) Certification(s) and License(s)Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body Our Purpose & ValuesOUR PURPOSE & VALUES: Everything we do is about caring for our patients, our members, our students, our Geisinger family and our communities.
