Description:The Calais School is a state-approved, private therapeutic special education school in North Jersey serving students in grades K through 12 Plus with multiple learning disabilities as well as anxiety, mood, behavior, and autism spectrum disorders. This is position is available temporarily to cover for a leave. Applicants will provide Culinary Arts education to students. Under the direction of the Calais Administrative team, the Culinary Arts Instructor will create and lead daily lessons and activities. The Instructor will demonstrate genuine care about students and a sincere belief that each student's individual talents can be developed. Provides overall supervision to the creativity of the development and quality assurance of the culinary program at The Calais School. The ideal candidate will provide curriculum and course development for the Culinary Arts Program.Requirements:Certificate of Eligibility in Culinary or related field AND/OR Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certification.Experience working with special education students is strongly desiredNJDOE Teacher of Student with Disabilities Certification is a plus but not required.Knowledge of food trends and traditions, in the general foodservice industries.Experience in the process of creating and implementing new concepts in a food service environment.Excellent organizational and communications skills.Knowledge of and proven ability to comply with health department codes.Must be innovative, motivated, and passionate about teaching and learningPM21PI9e35fd12b222-25660-29115033
