Recognition Program. The Role: This is a hybrid role working out of
one of our office locations in either Irving or Fort Worth, TX,
Clarkston, MI or Montgomery, AL. OWL Services is seeking an
experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure
team. This role will primarily focus on the administration,
maintenance, and modernization of Windows Server environments, both
on-premises and in Microsoft Azure, across multiple domains and
business units. These environments support several companies
acquired through mergers and acquisitions, requiring strong
technical depth, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, security-conscious, comfortable
working in hybrid environments, and able to independently manage
priorities while collaborating closely with a distributed IT team.
Responsibilities: Essential duties include but are not limited to
the following: Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server
environments (on-premises and Azure with some Linux). Manage and
support physical and virtual servers, including provisioning,
configuration, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
Support and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware,
Hyper-V, and Azure. Ensure servers are patched regularly, secure,
and compliant with company standards. Monitor system health,
availability, and performance; proactively identify and remediate
issues. Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues across
on-premises and cloud environments. Support Active Directory across
multiple domains and trusts, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy,
etc. Assist with infrastructure modernization efforts, including
migration of legacy systems to cloud-first and/or hybrid solutions.
Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR)
planning, testing, and response activities. Support secure
infrastructure architectures, including MFA and Privileged Access
Management (PAM). Assist with remediation of security findings and
infrastructure hardening efforts. Collaborate with IT leadership,
Applications Team and IT Operations team members, and external
partners to ensure infrastructure aligns with business and
compliance requirements. Plan and execute infrastructure projects,
balancing multiple priorities and ensuring timely delivery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including
architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and system
inventories. Provide cross-functional support during peak periods
or team absences. Utilize scripting and automation tools (primarily
PowerShell) to improve efficiency and consistency. Stay current on
emerging infrastructure technologies and recommend improvements to
scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. Maintain clear and
timely communication during normal business hours, with reasonable
responsiveness to team messages when working remotely. Requirements
and Skills 5–7 years of hands-on experience administering and
supporting IT infrastructure, primarily Microsoft Windows Server
environments. Experience managing multiple on-premises Active
Directory domains, including trusts. Strong experience supporting
hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud). Proven experience managing
both physical and virtual servers. Experience with PowerShell or
other scripting/automation tools. Solid understanding of networking
fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and network
segmentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
with the ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to
manage tasks and projects without constant supervision. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills, including technical
documentation. Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and
identity platforms such as Okta. Experience with Azure IaaS, Azure
Virtual Desktop, and hybrid identity scenarios. Experience with
backup, disaster recovery, and storage platforms. Experience
supporting environments resulting from mergers and acquisitions a
plus. Familiarity with Linux administration a plus. Compensation
