- $ 189,130 ( Grade A ) Summary of Position The Senior Director,
Tech Enterprise & Systems Support provides strategic leadership and
oversight of enterprise-wide technology initiatives across New York
City Transit (NYCT). Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer,
this role is responsible for aligning system enhancements with
operational goals, integrating technology solutions into legacy and
evolving business processes, and ensuring continuous improvement
and innovation across the agency. This position serves as a key
liaison between NYCT executive leadership, MTA IT, Procurement, and
other internal and external partners. The Senior Director plays a
vital role in transforming service delivery and ensuring that
technology systems are designed, deployed, and managed effectively
to meet agency-wide needs. Key Responsibilities Provide Strategic
Leadership for Enterprise Systems Set the direction for the
planning, evaluation, and enhancement of NYCT’s core operational
and business technology systems. Oversee the full systems
lifecycle, including the review and negotiation of contractor task
orders, in collaboration with MTA IT, Procurement, and key
stakeholders. Ensure all technology initiatives are aligned with
NYCT’s strategic objectives and operational needs. Manage
Technology Integration and Project Execution Lead the
implementation of major technology initiatives by identifying
business requirements, developing specifications, and ensuring
seamless integration into existing processes. Direct technical
teams and ensure that system deployments are timely,
cost-effective, and deliver meaningful performance improvements.
Drive Cross-Agency Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Serve
as a key liaison across NYCT, working closely with the Executive
Team (President, Chief of Staff, COO, CAO), department heads
(Subways, Buses, Paratransit, Operations Planning), and external
partners. Facilitate open communication to identify operational
challenges, build consensus, and foster buy-in for system
solutions. Champion Innovation and Continuous Improvement Identify
and evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices that
can enhance operational efficiency. Conduct gap analyses to uncover
inefficiencies and recommend scalable, forward-thinking solutions.
Promote the adoption of tools and processes that modernize
workflows and position NYCT for long-term success. Ensure
High-Impact Outcomes and Measurable Results Deliver technology
solutions that support over 50,000 employees and contribute to
measurable improvements in customer service, cost control, and
operational performance. Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s
Degree Preferred: Master’s Degree Fields of Study: Public
Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology,
Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or related
discipline. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant
professional experience in enterprise systems, technology
management, or IT operations At least 5 years in a managerial or
supervisory capacity Experience with large-scale public sector or
transit-related technology initiatives is a plus Desired Skills •
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills,
together with demonstrated quantitative skills and proficiency in
Excel modeling. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and
written, with the talent to communicate complex quantitative
concepts in a clear and succinct way to internal stakeholders. •
Strong interpersonal skills with an established history of working
on projects requiring group consensus and cooperation among people
with no direct reporting relationships. • Must be capable of
building a strong and successful network, developing new
relationships and influencing decision makers. • Demonstrated
ability to work in team and/or group settings, including team
process and staff development skills. • Ability to prioritize among
competing needs and opportunities and manage multiple projects at
