We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Finishing Technician to join our growing production team. Position Overview The Finishing Technician is responsible for preparing, finishing, and coating custom cabinetry to meet Goebel Cabinetrys high quality standards. This role works hands-on in the finishing department performing prep, sanding, staining, painting, and top-coating operations. Finishing Technicians play a critical role in delivering a consistent, high-end finished product and work closely with other production departments to keep projects moving smoothly through the shop. Key Responsibilities Finishing & Production Perform hands-on finishing work including: Surface prep and sanding Staining and painting Top-coating and final finish application Follow established finishing processes, techniques, and quality standards Work from production schedules and priorities provided by supervisors Maintain steady workflow and meet assigned deadlines Assist in identifying and correcting finish defects or quality issues Quality & Safety Ensure finished cabinetry meets Goebel Cabinetrys craftsmanship standards Perform visual checks of work before moving pieces to the next stage Properly mix, handle, and apply finishing materials according to standards Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and professional finishing workspace Equipment & Materials Properly use and care for finishing equipment (spray guns, booths, pumps, sanding tools, etc.) Assist with cleanup and routine maintenance of finishing equipment and work areas Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with other finishing technicians and production team members Communicate questions, concerns, or quality issues promptly to supervision Support team goals by maintaining a positive, reliable, and professional attitude Expectations of the Role Take pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail Follow processes consistently while remaining adaptable to project needs Wood/Automotive background welcome Maintain efficiency without compromising quality Be dependable, punctual, and safety-minded Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment Qualifications Experience in cabinet or millwork finishing preferred (prep, sanding, stain, paint, top coat) Ability to work with hand tools, spray equipment, and finishing materials Strong attention to detail and quality Willingness to learn and follow established finishing processes Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment
