Our client is a medium sized well-known organization who prides themselves on their growth opportunities from within the organization. They are looking to add a Mortgage Underwriter to their growing team located in Bucks County, PA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1+ years of underwriting experience.

Salary/Rate:$40,000-50,000 (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview:The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting all real estate loans and mortgages including analysis of income, credit, and appraisal of property. Additionally, the Mortgage Underwriter should evaluate credit criteria, make a timely lending decision, and communicate the reasons for that decision to lending management and staff or the member applying for the loan.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Analyze credit of mortgage applicant to determine risk associated with repaying of loan
  
• Perform analysis of income to determine borrowers' capacity to repay the mortgage
  
• Appraise property to determine if acceptable as collateral
  
• Use multiple factors to analyze whether borrowers should be approved for loans based on company's policies
  
• Prevent loss exposure to the organization
  
• Provide recommendations to review and resolve exceptions to lending guidelines within limits
  
• Monitor, update, and implement all underwriting guidelines and procedures
  
• Process improvements to the company's policies, procedures, and systems to steam line and create more efficient processes
  
• The Mortgage Underwriter should have a thorough understanding of the company's policies, procedures, and loan products

  • 1-2 years of mortgage underwriting experience
    
  • Quick learner and tech savvy
    
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment efficiently
