Responsibilities

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. LifeWorks comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced ASD1 Teacher to support our ASD1 classroom for our LifeWorks Day School in Levittown, PA for the 2020-2021 Academic School Year.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.
• Monitor student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods. Observe and record student progress daily.
• Develop and monitor student's IEP, reports, goals, objectives, attend IEP meetings, establish, maintain, and work toward student goals as outlined in the IEP.
• Manage student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program and positive behavior support plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's level degree in Special Education is required. PA certification in Special Education is required. Content area certifications preferred. Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting is highly desirable.
